Don't let the location foul you. It's clean and gets the job done.
It has the most group workout with a lot of group options. They have complimentary coffee, not crowded, friendly, parking is great. This is a great place to be. The family package is very affordable they have flat rates for those who exceed the income qualifications.
The facility itself is pretty standard for a YMCA and the staff are friendly. The reason I'm giving it only two stars is because it seems like much of the staff is not trained. You can ask three staff members the same question and get wildly different answers. The women's locker room is also quite dirty. The floors look like they've never been cleaned properly. The childcare system is also extremely inefficient and is not user friendly. You have to call 24 hours before you intend to use childcare in order to make a reservation. They will not let you reserve a place two days ahead and give you a very hard time if you drop in. Since I like to go to the gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, that means I have to call every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday to be able to use the childcare amenity. I've been a member of many gyms over the years and have never encountered such a user-unfriendly system. The staff acknowledges that this is a bad system and admits they have received several complaints are still unwilling to modify system. If you're looking at the Y because you need childcare while working out, I suggest you keep looking.
Three stories for exercise and related classes. Large 25 yard pool sectioned for counter-clockwise continuous laps and concurrent swim classes. Two stories are dedicated to state of the art exercise machines. Membership is a great buy if you have Kaiser HMO Fitness Plus plan!
